ChiWIP members assisted Chicago area Brownies to complete the necessary requirements to earn the IP Patch (created by the USPTO and the IPO Educational Foundation) and the Girl Scout Inventor badge. This event was held at no cost to Brownies and their parents. After the event, ChiWIP members, Brownies, Troop leaders, and their parents were all invited to Harry Caray’s 7th Inning Stretch Restaurant (next door to the Chicago Sports Museum) for lunch.
The IP Patch for Girl Scouts was designed to increase awareness of creation and protection of intellectual property across disciplines and particularly as it relates to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), for girls of all ages.
